Forfar

Forfar is situated in the heart of the fertile Strathmore Valley and is the administrative centre for Angus Council. Set between two lochs the town retains much of its traditional charm. Nearby attractions include Restenneth Priory and Dunnichen Hill, site of the Battle of Nechtansmere in 568 AD. However the major attraction is the nearby Glamis Castle, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and birthplace of HRH The Princess Margaret. There are many shops just waiting to be discovered, and the local speciality is the famous "Forfar Bridie".
